The objective of neutrality is to facilitate dialog independent of bias. This places the emphasis on the goals of the customer, not the sales outcome.

no guessing

No guessing focuses on neutral collaboration to produce the most valued commodity ….. INFORMATION. The value of information cannot be measured, it is the customer sharing their needs and what their buying experience should look like. 

no defense

By combining neutrality and no guessing the objective is to prevent the consultant from going on defense. An individual on the defensive will misalign the buying process, breaking the customer’s trust. Defense destroys sales opportunities.

We believe that neutrality, no guessing and, no defense is the key to connecting with today’s customer. These principals form the foundation of collaboration the one thing that can be universally used to build trusting relationships. The end game is to have clients that believe in you and your organization.

There are many elements to understanding the ins and out of the human brain and what type of behavior has the potential to trigger an adverse response.

For example, when companies use influence and control-based approaches with the customer, they unknowingly flirt with triggering the customer’s fight or flight mode. This mode is automated and hard-wired into the oldest parts of the human brain.  Think of it as a vehicle running in neutral ready to be shifted into gear as soon as a threat is perceived.

The dilemma is that the brain does not evaluate an interaction as life annoying or life-threatening quickly.  Regardless of the interaction, the brain responds by releasing the neurotransmitters and hormones of the fight or flight state, inadvertently shifting the vehicle into drive. That shift into drive has the potential to jeopardize customer-consultant trust.

Fortunately, 3pi has spent years focused on how the customer’s brain works to develop training and coaching solutions with one objective, helping companies create more collaborative trusting and prosperous relationships.
